KAB
The Knee Arthroscopy Belt (KAB) is a lightweight, low-profile belt worn around the waist. The belt can be compared with a powerlifting belt that has the principle that it can help increase intra-abdominal pressure, stabilize the spine, reduce spinal compression, and decrease the risk of spinal injury during strength training. The KAB has 2 side supports on which the foot of the patient can be positioned during knee arthroscopy. The KAB should be worn at the level of the umbilicus and the 2 side supports support on the iliac crest. The principle of the side supports is that it converts downward pressure of the surgical leg into lateral pressure against the pelvis of the surgeon.
